Liverpool Comedy Club at the Bentley is Liverpool’s new home of Stand-Up Comedy .
This is the latest venture in the city for husband and wife team Brendan Riley and Val Brady of Big Comedy UK, one of the Northwest’s biggest comedy promoters who along with running regular comedy nights through the year are responsible for the annual Southport Comedy Festival now in it’s 8th year.
Brendan and Val have been running comedy nights in Liverpool over the last FOUR years with the Comedy Cellar at The Magnet on Hardman Street and Liverpool Comedy Club at Camp and Furnace and are delighted to be joining forces with The Bentley on Brunswick Street, one of the city’s most stunning venues in central Liverpool, overlooking the Waterfront and the Three Grace.
Brendan and Val are no strangers to comedy having worked in the industry for many years.
Brendan Riley is an established stand Up Comedian who has been performing on the international comedy circuit for over 25 years touring all over the UK and abroad including Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Dubai and many overseas performances for the Ministry of Defence including a tour of Afghanistan in 2014. Brendan has played at all the comedy clubs in Liverpool including Comedy Central at Baby Blue on the Albert Dock, Hot Water Comedy Club, Laughterhouse Comedy Club at The Slaughterhouse Pub on Fenwick Street, and the famous Rawhide Comedy Club where he was one of the resident comperes during its 16 years reign in the city. Brendan has performed alongside household names such as Peter Kay, Harry Hill, Michael McIntyre, John Bishop and Jason Manford to name but a few.
Val Brady has been working in the comedy industry for almost 20 years. She was the comedy booker and show manager at the famous Rawhide Comedy Club from 2000 when it ran at Baby Blue at The Albert Dock through to it’s many venues in the city to include Prohibition, Comedy Central and The Royal Court Liverpool where she was also Assistant Producer working on comedy productions such as Brick Up The Mersey Tunnels, Willy Russell’s Stage and Hens The Remix and Willy Russell’s Our Day Out The Musical . Val was also the programming coordinator and booker for The Liverpool Comedy Festival during it’s first 9 years. She is now the Director of Big Comedy UK and The Southport Comedy Festival.
